post extractions

I feel a bit better today than yesterday. Today, my brain is on high alert and my teeth are somewhat numb. Yesterday morning, my wisdom teeth were extracted. All four of them. I was pumped up on Novocaine and today, my face has swollen so much. I have stopped wearing the gauze in my mouth because the bleeding has stopped. So now I just rinse my mouth with warm salt water after I eat. One portion of my lips is still numb. It is the bottom right portion. I have been sleeping a lot today. Yesterday evening, I listened to the new nine inch nails album Ghost IV as I slept. It was very peaceful. My dreams all strung together like random thoughts. I think I was taking a journey through my mind. I was really hoping to be put asleep during the surgery, but I had not eaten anything that morning. Well I had not eaten much. So I was given local anesthesia and Novocaine. I closed my eyes during the whole procedure. I could hear the breaking of bone and the sound of the chisel or whatever instrument used to break the wisdom teeth out of my mouth. There was one point when the surgeon pointed out how he could see blood pumping in one of my arteries. I also remember the sound my top left wisdom tooth made as it was being pulled out. I could hear and somewhat feel the tooth shatter. I thought of an empty room with one light bulb...the room quickly darkens as the light bulb shatters. I have been feeling somewhat nauseas. Every time I would make a stop to the restroom or to get a glass of water, I would have ten seconds before the nauseas feeling would come over me. Also my bottom teeth on the right feels very cramped. Anyhow, I think I will stay awake for a few more hours and watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding with Michael. Hopefully I will be able to make it through a movie.
