a glimpse of yesterday afternoon is tea time
yesterday afternoon just as I was walking down thompson lane, i saw a trashcan that had turned over and into the street. cars were swerving around it. i started singing, "Panic on the streets of London...Panic on the streets of Birmingham...I wonder to myself" i continued singing while waiting for a pause in the traffic and once i had the imaginary green light, i calmly picked up the bins and set them upright and in a single file (as if they were headed to boot camp). a young lady from the local center thanked me as she was the one to retrieve the bins. she thanked me in a calm voice. as i walked across the street at the crosswalk, my mind continued singing, "Because the music that they constantly play. it says nothing about my life" and i stood at the bus stop thinking about my plans when i get home.
